Czapek Unveils Victory Green

Short description: Independent Swiss watchmaker Czapek has transformed a bespoke collector commission into a ten-piece edition of the Antarctique Tourbillon Victory Green, combining yellow gold, intricate dial craftsmanship and a flying tourbillon.

◉ Only 10 watches: The limited edition brings an exclusive collector-designed configuration into a small production series.

◉ CHF 98,000 on gold: The integrated 18-karat yellow-gold bracelet version carries a pre-tax retail price of CHF 98,000.

◉ Independent watchmaking: The release highlights how bespoke commissions, specialist craftsmanship and low production volumes help independent maisons differentiate themselves in the luxury market.

A Collector’s Vision

Czapek’s Antarctique Tourbillon Victory Green began as a one-off commission built around a distinctive combination of warm yellow gold and a deep forest-green dial. With the original collector’s agreement, the Swiss manufacturer has adapted the design into a numbered edition of just 10 watches.

The approach reflects a characteristic feature of independent haute horlogerie: customer commissions can become more than isolated creations, sometimes providing the creative foundation for future releases. Rather than developing a conventional colour variation, Czapek is extending a design with an established personal story to a tightly limited group of buyers.

Gold Meets Green

The watch features a 40.5-millimetre case in 18-karat 2N yellow gold, paired with an integrated gold bracelet. Its forest-green dial carries the brand’s hand-guilloché Singularité pattern, developed with specialist dial maker Metalem.

The engraving creates a shifting, vortex-like effect that draws the eye towards the flying tourbillon. Green-coated markers and partially skeletonised hands maintain the colour theme while preserving visual attention on the movement.

The Calibre Behind the Display

At its centre is Czapek’s automatic Calibre 9, a manufacture movement designed and constructed in-house and machined predominantly within the company. The mechanism aligns the barrel, gear train and flying tourbillon along a vertical axis, making the movement part of the dial’s visual composition.

The calibre comprises 191 components and provides a 100-hour power reserve. A hand-engraved gold oscillating weight is visible through the sapphire caseback, while the bridges feature a combination of finishing techniques, including hand-bevelling.

The case measures 11.5 millimetres thick and offers water resistance to 50 metres, balancing the complexity of the tourbillon with the collection’s contemporary sports-watch architecture.

Pricing and Exclusivity

The gold-bracelet version is priced at CHF 98,000 before taxes. Czapek also offers the watch on alternative straps, with pre-tax prices of CHF 73,600 for alligator leather and CHF 69,600 for rubber.

The three configurations broaden the choice of presentation without changing the edition’s ten-piece limit. Availability is through selected authorised retailers, the brand’s Geneva boutique and its official website.

The Independent Advantage

For smaller watchmakers, differentiation depends on more than technical specifications. A recognisable design language, specialist suppliers and direct relationships with collectors can create a proposition distinct from the scale and broad distribution of major luxury groups.

The Victory Green illustrates this model. A bespoke commission supplied the original concept, traditional dial craftsmanship provides a defining visual feature, and extremely limited production preserves the edition’s exclusivity.

At nearly CHF 100,000 for the gold-bracelet version, the watch occupies the upper tier of luxury sports watches. Its significance lies not simply in its price, but in how a collector’s idea has become a commercial release without losing its original identity.
