European fintech giant Revolut is reportedly targeting a valuation of as much as $200 billion for a future stock market debut, a sharp increase from the $75 billion price tag attached to its November private share sale.
According to reports cited by CoinDesk and the Financial Times, the company has discussed a potential IPO valuation range of $150 billion to $200 billion with investors, underscoring confidence in its growth trajectory as it expands globally across banking, payments, trading and wealth services. If achieved, a $200 billion valuation would place Revolut among the world’s most highly valued financial technology firms and above many listed European banks. The figure would also represent an increase of roughly 125% from its most recent secondary transaction valuation.
Revolut has previously indicated it does not expect to pursue a public listing before 2028, suggesting management is prioritizing further scale, profitability and international licensing progress before entering public markets. Reuters reported the company declined to comment on the valuation target. (Reuters)
The timing comes as investor appetite for profitable fintech companies has improved after a difficult post-pandemic period marked by falling valuations and tighter funding conditions. Markets have recently rewarded firms able to combine fast user growth with stronger earnings visibility.
Revolut has benefited from diversification beyond its original low-cost foreign exchange offering. The platform now spans consumer banking, business accounts, card services, stock investing, crypto trading and lending, helping broaden revenue streams.
A future listing venue remains unclear, though market participants have frequently speculated about London or New York. A U.S. listing could potentially support a higher multiple, while London policymakers remain eager to attract major technology IPOs.
Why markets care
A successful Revolut IPO at anywhere near the upper end of expectations would be a landmark event for European fintech, potentially resetting valuations across digital banking, payments and challenger-bank peers.
