Maserati is bringing its motorsport heritage into the world of bespoke supercar ownership, using an exclusive showcase near Florence to connect racing history with modern personalisation.
The Italian luxury marque is displaying its historic MC12 alongside a specially commissioned GT2 Stradale Fuoriserie at Villa La Massa. The pairing highlights how heritage, craftsmanship and individual specification are becoming increasingly important to luxury automotive brands seeking to distinguish their most exclusive offerings.
Rather than competing on performance figures alone, manufacturers are increasingly using their racing histories and bespoke programmes to create vehicles with a stronger identity and a more personal connection to their owners.
The GT2 Stradale Fuoriserie on display features a metallic Blu Victory finish, a tribute to the MC12’s championship-winning era. White Trident graphics, a matte-carbon roof, racing-inspired details and a blue Alcantara interior carry the motorsport theme throughout the car.
The personalisation extends beyond paint and trim. The special commission also includes details linked to the MC12’s racing achievements, including a number 33 graphic and the signature of Andrea Bertolini, Maserati’s reference driver and racing adviser, on the engine bay.
Racing Heritage With Modern Appeal
The historic MC12 remains central to the story. After Maserati returned to international GT racing in 2004, the model established a formidable record, collecting 22 victories and 14 titles between 2004 and 2010. Its success helped reinforce the brand’s motorsport credentials and created a legacy that continues to influence its road cars.
The GT2 Stradale translates that racing identity into a road-legal super sports car. Its 3.0-litre Nettuno V6 produces 640 horsepower, enabling acceleration from zero to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 320 km/h.
The combination of track-derived engineering and individual specification gives the car a dual appeal: serious performance for driving enthusiasts and exclusivity for collectors seeking something beyond a standard production model.
Personalisation As A Luxury Strategy
Maserati’s Fuoriserie programme reflects a broader direction in the premium automotive market. Buyers at the highest end increasingly have the opportunity to influence colours, materials, finishes and design details, turning a vehicle into a more individual expression of its owner’s preferences.
For manufacturers, these commissions provide a way to deepen customer relationships and reinforce brand identity. A bespoke vehicle can also carry a more distinctive story than one defined solely by acceleration, power or top speed.
The MC12 and GT2 Stradale Fuoriserie pairing at Villa La Massa Excellence 2026 demonstrates how a manufacturer’s past can become part of its present-day luxury offering. By connecting championship history with contemporary craftsmanship, Maserati is positioning motorsport heritage as a lasting source of exclusivity.
