Max Verstappen won the Singapore Grand Prix on 11 October, taking his first victory at the Marina Bay Street Circuit and continuing Red Bull’s strong run of form.
The Dutchman started from pole position and held off Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc at the opening corner. From there, Verstappen controlled the race across 62 laps, eventually finishing 7.335 seconds ahead of Leclerc.
Kimi Antonelli took third for Mercedes, adding another podium to a season that has put him firmly in the championship picture.
Ferrari and Mercedes Deliver
Leclerc finished second after applying early pressure, but Ferrari could not find a way past Verstappen. Lewis Hamilton crossed the line sixth after struggling with tyre performance in the closing stages.
Antonelli’s third place was important for Mercedes. Lando Norris finished fourth for McLaren, followed by teammate Oscar Piastri in fifth. George Russell, meanwhile, finished ninth after a difficult weekend that included engine-related penalties.
The result showed how different teams are approaching the final stages of the season. Red Bull converted its qualifying advantage into a win, Ferrari secured a podium, and Mercedes collected valuable points through Antonelli.
Antonelli Strengthens His Position
Antonelli’s podium was another boost in his title campaign. According to Reuters, he extended his lead over teammate Russell to 102 points, moving closer to securing his first Formula 1 world championship.
Verstappen’s victory also marked his second consecutive win, following his success in Bahrain the previous weekend. He managed the race despite radio communication problems, with Red Bull using pit-board instructions to communicate with him.
The Singapore result adds another layer to a season that has seen Verstappen return to winning form while Antonelli continues to build consistency.
What the Result Means
Singapore is one of the most demanding races on the calendar. The tight street circuit, heat and humidity leave little room for mistakes, and tyre management can decide the outcome.
Verstappen delivered a controlled performance when it mattered. Ferrari stayed close enough to apply pressure but never closed the gap, while Antonelli turned another strong weekend into valuable championship points.
The bigger question now is whether Antonelli can finish the job in the remaining races or whether Verstappen can continue his late-season run and put more pressure on the championship leaders.
The next round in Austin will provide another opportunity to find out. For now, Singapore belongs to Verstappen.
